Our History

My father, Raymond Hope McDonald, started his business in 1967 with the timeless philosophy “that the customer is always right!” My Dad’s goal was to give exceptional service to the local builders, homeowners, businesses, and real estate agents in our local community. I worked under my father’s leadership for 40 years, until his passing on May 16, 2016. Having learned this mindset from the greatest man and business man I know, I followed in his successful footsteps and started JP Pests Away.

In 2018, my wife, Jo Anne Manard and I started this new venture while continuing to build on the same foundation of exceptional customer service. Jo Anne has kept this Pest Control operation growing strong. I truly could not have done this without her. She has committed herself to learning a new career coming from a background of mortgage banking and a multi-million dollar producer for Real Estate. She has the same passion as my belated father. Most days she is out in the field treating for pests, termites, trapping moles or in our office running day to day operations. It is truly a team effort.
